My 10 Favourite Netflix Shows

If I'm not at work or out and about I'm usually at home tucked up in bed with a tea and some snacks with Netflix on. Netflix has everything you'd ever want to watch but sometimes its easy to watch the same things and you don't discover some of the hidden gems that are on there. That's why I'm here with a new post to tell you about some of the best shows I have watched on Netflix and hopefully you'll find something new to watch!

1. Pretty Little Liars

This is my favourite of all favourites. I've watched this show several times (including the fact I'm binge watching it again now) and I'm still not bored of it! Every time I watch it I feel there's something I missed the last time and even though I know what happens it still feels just as exciting! This show has 8 seasons so it's definitely one you can just sit and binge through hours on end

2. Gossip Girl

I'm pretty sure every girl knows and has watched Gossip Girl, this is one of my favourite storylines and has my all time favourite couple of the show, come on who else adores 'chair' as much as I do? The two of them are what makes Gossip Girl so great for me`and give me all the feels. There is 6 seasons each episode around 40 minutes long so its definitely worth watching!

3. The Vampire Diaries

The title just describes this show in 3 words, its based on vampires and their lives. This is the most thrilling out of all the shows I've watched and the one I found most gripping, I really found it hard to stop watching and the first time I watched it within 2 weeks back to back. I really enjoyed the story played out in this american drama and if you're into shows that can be very dark but also with a little romance I think you'll really enjoy this, for anyone reading who has already watched, in the 8 seasons on Netflix from the start 'Delana' are my favourite show couple of all time! Let me know in the comments if 'Delana' was your favourite too or whether you were a 'Stelana' .. or even both!

4. Dirty John

This is one of the more recent series I've watched and I think it's one of those controversial, love/hate sort of show. Personally I loved it, I found it thrilling and it had me gripped with each episode. Netfix original Dirty John is based on a true story of John Meehan and Debra Newell who met on a dating website, when things turn ugly very quickly and Debra discovers he's been lying about not just being an anesthesiologist but about his whole identity..

5. Atypical

Atypical is so underrated, I absolutely love the depth, humour and realness of this show. This heartfelt comedy stars main actor Sam (Keir Gilchrist) who has autism and decides he is ready for romance and to get that he has to become more independent and what it means to be 'normal'. It's such a lovely series that'll make you laugh your heart out

6. The end of the f***ing world

I don't usually watch shows like this, however it drew me in, the actors Alyssa and James are hilarious in this series together, at the beginning James plots to kill Alyssa, Alyssa thinks she's falling in love with James while James pretends he's in love with her. They both have their issues but by the end they become a team to plan their escape - too soon realizing it's too late.

7. YOU

I finished YOU in a week, it was probably my favourite 'thriller' I have ever seen, it had me hooked instantly and had me saying 'OH MY GOD' at least ten times in each episode. Bookstore manager Joe crosses paths with aspiring writer Beck, Joe is charming yet there is a sinister feel as Joe becomes even more obsessed with Beck. He becomes so obsessed he removes any obstacle (this including people) to get to her, if you're into charming yet sinister/ sweet but creepy love stories I'm sure you'll love this one!

8. Afterlife

Josh was the one who actually suggested this show to me and so I decided we would give it a go and I'm so glad we did, it's hilarious and deep all at the same time. Ricky Gervais 'Tony' had a perfect life - this was until his wife died. This once nice guy changed and became suicidal. After attempting his own life he decides that instead he would rather stay and punish the world with saying and doing whatever he likes, he doesn't care about anything or anyone until his friends and family try to save the nice guy they used to know.

9. 13 Reasons Why

This is definitely one of the more controversial shows on Netflix, 'Hannah' takes her own life, classmate Clay then finds a mysterious looking box on his porch, inside this box are tape recordings explaining the 13 reasons why she took her life. Clay listening to these tapes means he will realise if and how he made the list. If suicide or negative shows trigger you in any way I would advise not watching this or the 'afterlife' show I listed above

10.  Riverdale

My current and always favourite, everything about this show I love, the cast, storylines, setting, music. I never thought I would enjoy this show and I seen it advertised so many times before I decided to watch it but I'm so glad I did, every time a new episode is released I make sure I free a spare hour in my day to sit down with a cup of tea to watch it

So that sums up my 10 favourite Netflix shows! Let me know in the comments if you've watched any or even all of these and what your favourite shows are so hopefully we can find something new and exciting to watch, I hope you enjoyed reading and found a new show you want to watch

  3. Oh my god I agree with these so much! I mean I've only actually watched Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars all the way through it. But then I've also heard that Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why would be the sort of thing I'd like too! :)
