A Day In Bath

The days are getting warmer and the evenings are getting lighter, spring is just around the corner! Last weekend I took a trip to Bath which is such a lovely city to visit especially when its sunny, so I thought I would share what I got up to whilst I was there and hopefully recommend for you some new places to try if you decide to go to Bath any time this spring/summer (which you definitely should).

I honestly think Bath City Centre is the best for retail shopping, they have so many options and tend to be quite large stores, they have a Primark too so that's already made it for me. So I usually go round a couple of shops to see what I can find and once I've bought far too much (especially in Primark) I'm normally hungry by then so being vegetarian I wanted to see what options Bath had to offer. I came across Absurd Bird which we don't have in Bristol and they had the most amazing vegan options so this was for sure a good choice, we both went for the 'vegan tenders' which is basically a chicken meat substitute wrapped in a delicious slightly spicy coating, if you are vegan or not I highly recommend you to try these they are just incredible and you get 9 for £13 which I think is reasonable as they taste so good and are huge! They also come with 3 dips of your choice so I opted for BBQ but all of their sauces are vegetarian which was great and the guy even bought us some extra ones to try out too! Also we had a portion of sweet potato fries each which were also lovely. Visiting Absurd was amazing the staff were so welcoming and certainly made us happy.

After wandering around for a little while in the afternoon and popping into a few more shops I'm usually either thirsty or hungry again so we stopped off into waitrose to get a snack, which we have become obsessed with their pink donuts they are slightly pricey at £1.25 each however this is the best vegetarian donut I have ever eaten, its a Raspberry and Rose flavour jam inside with the same flavour icing if you shop at waitrose you should definitely try it out! We then popped along to Soho Coffee and had some coffees sat outside with our donuts, it was heaven. I went for a salted caramel latte which was just the caffeine boost that I needed!

So thats everything we got up to in Bath last weekend, I hope you enjoyed reading and have hopefully found some new places to try out for yourself! We will definitely be going back there soon so I may do a part two post to this one if thats something you'd like to see.

Thanks for reading!

  5. I live in Royal Wootton Bassett near Swindon so doesn't take too long on the train to get to Bath. It is so pretty there. I have been to the Christmas Markets there too which are good fun. Your lunch looks so nice, we found a nice pub last time to eat in but can't remember the name. We went for my husbands birthday, just me and him and got as many meals in as we could as don't normally not have a child near us lol. Managed breakfast and lunch :-)

  6. Bath is definitely one of my favourite cities to visit. I live in a small town about an hour away so we always go to Bath whenever we want a shopping day. I've never been to Absurd Bird but it sounds and looks really good! :)
